Fishing & Hunting
Fly fishing
Rock Creek is Montana’s premiere Blue Ribbon Trout Stream. Its water runs cold and most of the time clear even during hot summer months making it a tremendous home for rainbow, brown, cutthroat and brook trout. The large and endangered bull trout has occasionally been hooked here too. Because the ranch is somewhat secluded the waters are rarely fished by outsiders and miles of stream including the East and Middle Forks wander through and merge at the edge of Spoon’s Rock Creek Ranch. Just up the road the West and Ross’s Forks join in to form Rock Creek’s headwaters; a river of over 50 miles filled with gentle pools, swift runs and pockets. Rock Creek has water to please almost every angler and trout.
Hunting & Wildlife
Spoon’s Rock Creek Ranch is located near the Pintar Wilderness; close to many US forest Service lands, making the ranch an excellent base camp for your Montana hunting adventure, with all the amenities of home.
Abundant wildlife in the area includes elk, whitetail & mule deer, moose, bighorn sheep, grizzly and black bear, wolves and coyotes. For birdwatchers you can often see bluebirds, geese, kingfishers, herons, bald and golden eagles and a variety of other raptors.
